Then came the hum.
Not thunder. Not wind. Just presence.
Homelander landed without ceremony. No heat vision. No smirk. Just eyes—blue, unblinking, unreadable.
"You’re late," she said.
"I wasn’t invited," he replied.
They stood in the ruins of belief. One born of legacy, the other of spectacle. Around them, the world crumbled. But neither moved.
"You think this is about power?" she asked.
"No," he said. "It’s about relevance."
She didn’t flinch. Didn’t rise. Just stood tall.
And somewhere beneath the rubble, the past whispered: Where the world crumbles, legacy stands tall.
