Maddison stared down into the gun safe at her Glock wondering why she had not used it, then recognizing that the horror of the situation had completely overwhelmed her and sent her into panic flight.

The shock of the experience overcame her and she sat down heavily in her desk chair, dropping her head to the desk and thinking "I'll just rest for a minute." She was instantly asleep.

Albert had climbed into his favorite spot on the bed and went to sleep, too.
