Eira (It means snow and is of Welsh origin) holds in her hands the Last Mechanism, a small golden clock that glows with the only warmth remaining in the kingdom. It is her lover's heart, beating to the rhythm of a second hand that never moves forward.
Eira’s melancholy lies in her terrible choice: for the winter to end and for life to bloom again, she must drop the golden clock and allow it to shatter against the ice. But doing so would mean accepting the final death of the only thing she has ever loved. And so, with a vacant gaze and porcelain skin, she wanders through the snow, doomed to protect a perfect instant while the cold slowly consumes her, turning her, bit by bit, into just another ice statue in her own garden of dead time.
