3D Render by SydneyKeysI put this together because I wanted to model a character that was still in a war, knowing in his heart that the war was lost. I don't think that's the worst thing that can happen to a person emotionally, but it has to be in the top five I'd guess.
It would definitely be disheartening I think to have to keep going.

Mon, Dec 08, 2025If you have the stomach for it there is a 2017 German language film called "Der Hauptmann" (The Captain) based on true events that dove into this topic. What stuck with me the most is that the protagonist was only twenty years old. The story serves as a good case study of what happens to the young when they are raised on a diet of non-stop political propaganda and conspicuous amounts of moral ambiguity - It is not an easy film to watch.
Great character. I can see his despair. I love that coat, BTW!
