Christmas Survivor
3D Render by thehermitcreativeThis was created to honor three of my friends who are breast cancer survivors. Their faith, joy, and peace is inspiring. They are my true life heroes!
Some breast cancer survivors have found that taking empowering photographs is cathartic and helps with the healing process. They celebrate their resilience, transforming feelings of loss into empowering art. For some survivors the photo shoot helps them accept their new bodies, some even find beauty in their scars. The artistic photographs help them take control of the narrative about their bodies helping them to see the scars as symbols of strength and survival. Creating beauty to overcome the loss. Some survivors say that it helps them pivot from victim to victor. Sharing these artistic photographs on social media and breast cancer awareness projects creates supportive communities and lets others know they are not alone.
I know it's a different kind of Christmas Photo, but it was on my heart to honor and celebrate my three friends. They inspire me every day. I love them beyond words <3 I named my character after my 3 friends, Kimberlynne Cox.
I used Henrika's Carcinoma and Expansion Pack for Genesis 9 to create the double mastectomy. Although, I used the individual breast morphs instead of the double one. I combine the skin textures with other skin textures in Photoshop.
