My Hero

This is another portrait of my original character Kimberlynne Cox (a combo of my 3 friends names). She represents three of my sweet friends who have battled breast cancer. My one friend just had another stroke that has left the left side of her body with issues. She is in occupational therapy at the moment. Yet through it all, she has a smile on her lips, she has a listening ear, thankful words, and faith that keeps her standing tall through all her medical issues.

She is my hero and an inspiration to so many of us who are blessed to be able to call her friend. Creating this image is my way of stepping out of sadness into hope. I guess you could say that I process my emotions by creating art smile

I think we've talked about this before, but my stepmum battled cancer for 27 years. I hope your friend can overcome all the issues from her stroke. It's hard to watch those we love suffer, especially cuz we can't take it away. Dun be sad. You know what they say: "Let go n'let God." (But, you're always welcome to throw walls and walls of "this sucks!" text my way. I gotchu.)

The eyes capture so much.. so much struggle, so much pain but also so much strength. Truly brings tears to my eyes. What a beautiful scene but full of so much more than what is captured in the scene.

What first caught my attention were the colors and the beautiful, intense light. Then I noticed a certain fragility in her expression, and that made me stop and read the story behind the image.
I am deeply touched by what you shared and very impressed by your friend's strength and spirit. She sounds like a truly remarkable woman.
Reading your words, I can very easily imagine and perhaps even relate to how you process emotions through your art. In a way, I feel that in almost every image you create. There is always something genuine and heartfelt behind them.
I sincerely hope you continue telling Kimberlynne's story, even if only in small chapters from time to time. I think there is something very special in both the character and the journey behind her.

This is a touching portrait my friend her eyes speak volumes, I hope your friend is recovering well. I had a stroke when I was younger just after my son was born and it really affected my right side of the body, it was brought on by stress, all good now thankfully and I wish the same for your friend. smile

Thank you so much, my friend. This image is near and dear to my heart because of my friends. She is a fighter! Working with her PT guy to try to get back as much use of her left side as possible. I'm so glad to hear that you are all good now <3
