Christmas Crystals Final
3D Render by InsomniaX86Christmas can be where you find it. Here, in the future, maybe, on a planet with many caves and Crystals, some scientists came upon a crystal and fungi formation that rather reminded them of a Christmas Tree. So, on Christmas, they gathered at that patch of crystals and began to sing Christmas Carols. The sound waves their songs made caused a resonance vibration in the crystals, which attracted the rare (and only slightly radioactive) Sulfur Cave Frogs, who hopped merrily all over the crystals. Soon a Quantum Butterfly appeared atop the tree! Or did it? Things are complicated with Quantum Butterflies. So by the warm Fungal light, with the friendly beeping of the Hunter-Killer Security Drones (No sudden movements, ladies!), a Merry Christmas was had by all!
I got the idea puttering around with a product called Crystal Caves, when I saw clusters of crystals that could be colored green or blue. I picked Green, and I got the idea to simulate a Christmas scene. Blue mushrooms were part of the set, and I found models for other fungi I could use for a source of Red light. Keeping all the light sources from interfering with each other was a bit of a nightmare. I needed ornaments for my tree, and originally I wanted Spiders. But I did not have any spiders in my collection of digital stuff. So, I went with Frogs. Frogs like caves, right? Well these are Science Fiction frogs, so they did. As for the Star on the tree, I did want a big creepy cave Spider up there, but, alas, I had none. So I went with a Butterfly, because I thought it looked pretty up there. I wanted more multicolored lights, but was tired of glowing fungi, so I went with Drones (the science fiction kind). At some point I knew I needed Carolers.
Originally I had the idea of a funny scene with one of the carolers singing badly, and the others reacting. I tried so many expressions, tried adding little helper bots to express the right emotion, but it looked cluttered and dumb to me. So I dropped that idea, and just went with merry singers instead. You can imagine them singing badly, but not caring, if you want to. After rendering in Daz Studio, I took it to GIMP to make the colors a little bolder, and Done. I hope you like my Render!
