The Old Norse name Skådi, and Old High German scato (meaning ‘shadow’), can be compared to the Celtic Scáthach, a famous woman warrior known as ‘the shadowy one’. The mythology surrounding Skådi fits perfectly if she were a sleek assassin in modern times, as she was known to be an unrelenting combatant, skilled in all weapons of war. Sleek, mysterious, dangerous, unrelenting, and enigmatic, Skådi would make a fabulous femme fatale / assassin.
