Agent X-37
3D Render by CotuatosMeet Agent X-37, a perfect blend of femme fatale and spy. Who does she work for? No one but herself! Ready to sow chaos wherever she can gain an advantage, she is a staunch anarchist for whom morality is but weakness...
This character is a fusion of three influences: French serialized novels and films from the period 1880-1920 (The Phantom of the Opera, Fantomas...); post-World War I German Expressionism (Fritz Lang, F.W. Murnau...); and American pulps from the 1920s-1940s (Weird Tales, Amazing Stories...).
The inspiration comes from the famous Fantomas movie poster by Louis Feuillade (1913), but with a post-World War I Expressionist feel.
Work done in DAZ and post-production in GIMP for adding a flare and a few minor adjustments to contrast and color values.
The main interest of the project was to restore the expressionist aesthetic by playing on planes and flat areas of color contrasted by direct lights without having to do a lot of retouching work.
Picture 3 is the original render ; 4 is a pulp/comics version.
