3D Render by Nemmesea"Shun walked through the alleys with the same enthusiasm as someone forced to wake up early on a Sunday. Her friend kept pace beside her, not judging, though every now and then he glanced up at her as if to say, they roped you into something again, didn’t they?
The bag thumped against her back, reminding her of the errand. An errand she hadn’t asked for, hadn’t agreed to, and honestly had no intention of completing without complaining. Every step toward the assigned destination tasted like a mix of annoyance and resignation.
The city carried on with its own business, completely indifferent to her personal misery, while Shun mentally calculated the odds of ditching the whole thing. Doing anything that wasn’t this. Wandering off for a while. Acting like an idiot. Buying something she didn’t need. Sitting on a curb just to watch people go by. Anything.
Her friend looked at her again, as if he already knew the decision had been made.
Shun exhaled.
The errand could wait.
She couldn’t".
