Seraphel - Angel of Light
3D Render by Henry1850The Rise of the Watcher
Far above the caverns, in the realm where dawn is born, a Watcher named Seraphel sensed the disturbance. The heavens dimmed as the shadows of Gehenna thickened across the world. Seraphel unfurled wings of radiant white light and descended toward the mortal plane, where the corruption had begun to spread.
He found villages abandoned, fields blighted, and children missing—taken for the rituals of the dark gods. Each loss was a wound in the fabric of creation.
Seraphel gathered the Remnant, a small band of mortals whose hearts still held the spark of the divine. Among them was Liora, a young woman whose brother had been taken by Moloch’s servants. Her grief had hardened into resolve.
“We will not let the darkness claim this world,Seraphel vowed. “But the battle will not be won by angels alone.

A wonderful illustration of your description of the situation in which the angel finds himself.
As you so aptly wrote, even if we believe in the power and goodness of the gods and wish for angels to protect us because they can, we should not rely on this alone, but take our fate into our own hands with the support of the angels.

Mon, Mar 09Yes I agree, this image and the abyss one is of course connected and perhaps a future third one.
Mankind has always believed in some form of divine intervention in times of deep struggle. There are times when Nature and struggle intersect making some to believe it was some divine force helping. But these situations are very very rare and are written by the victors. It has become a force of hope in all of history is it possible or not we will never really know.
Thank you so very much.
