Makeup in DAZ Studio has traditionally worked in a simple way:
apply a preset, and the entire look changes instantly.

But many artists want something different.

Sometimes the perfect character already exists — the lighting is right, the skin looks photorealistic, and the expression feels alive.

The only thing that needs adjustment is the makeup.

"DD Makeup Editor" was created to give artists direct control over those details.

Designed for "Genesis 8 Female using the Iray Uber Skin shader", this system allows makeup elements to be adjusted individually while keeping the original skin textures untouched.

Lip color, eyeliner, eyeshadow, blush, and foundation can all be modified through layered controls.

Instead of switching between fixed presets, artists can experiment and refine the look directly inside DAZ Studio.

The editor works non-destructively, meaning all adjustments modify material parameters rather than replacing texture files.

The result is a more flexible workflow where one character can transform into multiple distinct looks — from natural portrait styles to bold editorial makeup.

The package includes over "100 makeup presets" and a layered mask system designed specifically for Genesis 8 Female artists who want deeper creative control.

Because sometimes the difference between two characters is not the morph.

It’s the makeup.
