Cynthia Photorealistic Genesis 8 Female Portrait - DD Makeup Editor Workflow
3D Render by Digital Drapery CoCynthia has been rendered many times.
Different artists.
Different lighting.
Different makeup presets.
But during this portrait render something unusual happened.
Her "Genesis 8 Female photorealistic skin" stayed exactly the same.
The micro-detail pores were still visible.
The lighting reacted naturally.
The tone variation remained untouched.
Only the makeup changed.
Lipstick shifted tone.
Blush adjusted color.
Eyeshadow softened around the eyes.
Instead of replacing textures, the makeup was being layered directly inside the "Iray PBR skin shader in DAZ Studio".
That small experiment eventually became the "DD Makeup Editor".
The tool allows artists to adjust lipstick, blush, eyeliner and foundation while preserving the original "photorealistic Genesis 8 Female skin textures".
This means the character keeps its realism while the artist can shape the look for different moods, lighting conditions and scenes.
Cynthia is still the same "photorealistic 3D human model".
Only her makeup tells a different story.

Fri, Mar 13You welcome, btw did you make the extension all by yourself? That's amazing! Congratulations buddy!

Sat, Mar 14Thank you, I really appreciate that! Yes, I developed the extension myself. It took quite a bit of experimenting and testing to get everything working smoothly with the material system, but it was a fun challenge. I'm glad it turned out useful for artists.
Thanks again for the kind words!

Mon, Mar 16Haha thank you so much, I really appreciate the encouragement!
To be honest, I only learned "partial DAZ scripting" while building this. I actually hated the scripting part at first because the documentation and material system can be pretty painful to work with.
The "DD Makeup Editor" you're seeing now took roughly "about two months of experimenting and testing" to reach this stage. Most of that time was spent figuring out how to make the makeup layer work "without destroying the original Iray skin shader", which was the main goal.
I'm also working on "another version/upgrade". My plan is to first make sure the system works reliably with "different materials and skins", and once that foundation is solid I want to start building "other tools on top of that workflow".
So this is kind of just the beginning.
Thanks again for the kind words and support - it really means a lot! And I'm glad you like Cynthia as well

Mon, Mar 16You welcome! Omg, only 2 months? Even then it was kinda fast for this kind of work, If it was I would probably take almost a year lol, scripting is not my thing, I tried to learn programming but it's not my vibe lol. But you did a great job, I can totally see your extension as one of Daz's originals like it happened with others
Keep it up!
