Manchmal hat sie das Gefühl, dass die Welt kälter wird. Nicht messbar, nicht plötzlich. Eher schleichend. Im Tonfall und in Blicken, die kürzer werden. In Gesprächen, die Abstand halten, auch wenn sie Nähe behaupten.
Der Gedanke an eine neue Eiszeit drängt sich auf. Keine geologische, sondern eine menschliche.
So verharrt sie einen Moment, ohne ihn weiterzudenken, denn sie weiß, dass sie keinen Einfluss darauf hat, wie sich die Welt entscheidet.
Was sie beeinflussen kann, ist begrenzt. Die eigene Haltung. Der eigene Standpunkt inmitten der Kälte. Diese breitet sich leicht aus und sie braucht kaum Aufmerksamkeit.
Wärme ist aufwendiger. Sie verlangt Präsenz. Und sie verschwindet schneller, als man denkt.
Also entscheidet sie sich nicht für ein Zeichen, das gesehen werden will. Kein Lächeln als Angebot. Keine Geste als Botschaft. Nur dafür, selbst nicht weiter abzukühlen.
Vielleicht ist das wenig. Aber es ist real...
... und das Einzige, das sie tun kann, für diesen Moment.

Ice Age
Sometimes she feels that the world is growing colder.
Not in a measurable way. Not suddenly. More gradually.
In the tone of voices. In glances that grow shorter. In conversations that keep their distance, even while claiming closeness.
The thought of a new ice age suggests itself. Not a geological one, but a human one.
She pauses with the thought for a moment, without pursuing it further, knowing that she has no influence over how the world chooses to move.
What she can influence is limited. Her own stance. Her own position within the cold. Cold spreads easily. It requires little attention.
Warmth is more demanding. It asks for presence. And it disappears more quickly than one might expect.
So she does not choose a sign meant to be seen. No smile as an offer. No gesture as a message. Only the decision not to grow colder herself.
Perhaps that is little. But it is real.
… and it is the only thing she can do, for this moment.
