This work visualizes the human psyche as a vast, ancient city-monument, constructed from brutalist concrete and carved with the faces of countless past selves. It is not a finished structure, but a ruin in constant construction, demolition, and renovation.
The Debris: Represent the collapse of old beliefs, traumas, and heartbreak. Each fallen stone is the monument of an internal battle, and the structure itself shows how we continuously rebuild ourselves upon the ruins of our past.
The Water as Tears: The water is not merely a decorative element; it is pure emotion and emotional memory.
The Waterfall (Active Grief): Born from a deep fissure in the mind, representing the necessary process of weeping and the purging of a present pain or vivid nostalgia.
Stagnant Pools (Resentment and Melancholy): In dark corners and lower levels, the murky water is corrupted. It symbolizes the emotions we refuse to let go, the regret and accumulated resentment that binds us to the past.
Dualities in Tension: The work explores the contrast between the monumentality of the Ego (the large
faces) and the vulnerability of the small human figures lost in the labyrinth. It is the struggle between our public mask and the fragility of the inner child.
