The Draconic Throne
3D Render by zakiel29The Draconic Throne: Sculpting Sovereignty
This was the third piece I chose to bring into the DAZ universe: a throne fit for a queen (or king) who venerates an ancient, primordial Dragon.
To be honest, I don’t usually overthink the lore while I'm creating. I just knew I wanted something that fit perfectly into a Dark Fantasy aesthetic, giving myself the absolute freedom to turn a living, breathing legendary being into a seat of power.
An Unintentional Ecosystem
As you can see in these renders, my products are starting to integrate with each other, almost by accident.
The "Skulls and Roses" Crown: I decided to pair the throne with this piece. Even if the skulls feel a bit "off-topic" here, those sharp, aggressive shapes were just too perfect to pass up.
The Draconic Essence & Rising Outfit: For these specific promos, I actually used the original 2017 Genesis 3 version. Back then, I didn't use Substance Painter; every single texture was hand-painted in ZBrush.
Looking at those old textures again is what finally pushed me to release the massive 2026 update for that set this past January. Modesty aside, I’m incredibly satisfied with how much the quality has jumped since those early days!
Materials & Experimentation
Since I love pushing materials to their limit, this throne comes with several distinct souls:
The Ancient Stone: For forgotten ruins and dusty cathedrals.
The Cold Metal: For the halls of a conqueror.
The Molten Lava: For a ruler born from the depths of a volcano.
