'Gunny' barked into Riggs headset, "C'mon Riggs', haul your sorry, lazy ass like it has a purpose in this life. We gotta get clear of here. We're 'hopscotching' Raggedy Man. We need to get down range from him and be ready for any stragglers that get by him." "Affirmative Sir," Riggs' replied. "You heard 'Gunny'," Riggs yelled to his team, "lets move it on down the road!" Driving the drones ahead of them, the marines entered into the early morning sunlight. They saw the sky was thick with "Mosquitoes."
Not the insect type, but the nickname for the gunnery sleds the Mech-Marine's flew. There were 300 yards of steep uphill slog that the drones had to cross in order to get to the nearest cover of a large sewer inlet. The sleds were lighting them up with repetitive strafing runs. On the ground, Raggedy Man's team was peppering the hill side, and anything moving on it, with 5.56mm carbine rounds.
"Incoming." Martinez yelled to everyone. "The hive is getting hit with 'Big Blues' in Ten !!!" Never had a team moved into the waiting APC's as fast as Riggs and his crew did that day. A loud reverberation was soon heard and felt as the laser guided munitions reached their target. "That moved your sorry ass along, didn't it Riggs," Gunny laughed. The hive's previous site lit up in a bright flash of light and then thick black smoke. The first MK84 had hit its mark.
It was a bad day to be a bug.

Epilogue :
Action-7 Morning News just learned that a faulty gas main has exploded within the local 'Energy-Conn' facility. The explosion occurred at about 6:00 AM local time. The building was abandon and there are no reports of either injury or death. Currently, no one is being allowed near the site due to the possibility of further explosions and the risk present from toxic smoke plumes. The building's owners report that the building is a total loss.
