Now, under the cool blue light, she pauses.
The butterflies hover close to her, brushing the air near her hand as she tries to steady herself.
A single thought presses against her calm: someone might have seen her—seen what she truly is beneath the shape she wears.
She scans the darkness, listening for any sign of movement.
Her pulse remains fast, but her posture tightens with control.
The night offered her freedom, but returning from it always carries a risk.
Lihn stays still, alert, guarding the secret she cannot allow anyone to witness."
