Impure Black Desire

This artwork explores the contrast between humanity and machinery through a cybernetic woman. Her sleek mechanical limbs enhance her appearance while preserving a sense of vulnerability.
The dark, dripping hands above her symbolize desire—the constant wanting, temptation, longing, and the invisible forces that draw us toward what we seek. At the same time, they represent corruption, control, fear, and the weight of external expectations. The title, "Impure Black Desire," reflects the darker side of longing: desires that can consume, transform, and blur the line between aspiration and obsession.
I wanted the symbolism to remain open to interpretation, allowing viewers to see the hands as both alluring and threatening. The minimalist composition places the focus on the character and the emotional tension between beauty, technology, vulnerability, and the psychological struggle that exists within desire itself.
My goal was to create a piece that feels both elegant and unsettling, inviting viewers to reflect on the complex nature of desire and its influence over us.
