3D Render by Lucifer3797AKAITO - Crimson Vein
This is my 4th entry in the contest and with this I wanted to go hard on custom stuff so wanted to do something different with the cyborg trope especially the structure beneath, I wanted you to actually see what's runs within..
Built the base girl in Daz3D
The internal skeleton was the real project here.
A combination of modelling, kitbashing and tweaking , molding the stuff to get the internal structure to the point it reads as a full sub-dermal rib and spine structure that sits visible through a semi-transparent torso shell.
Took a while to get the spacing right and kept it interesting, minimal so it reads as anatomically believable instead of just looking like random mechanical clutter stuffed under glass.
Each vertebra segment is its own piece with the red fiber lines threaded through, like exposed nerve conduits running down the spine. That's doing a lot of the storytelling work in this piece: she's not wearing armor, the armor IS her, and you're meant to read her as built rather than dressed.
The Voronoi-style chest plating was deliberate too.
Generated the cellular pattern, then hand-adjusted the density so it thins out near the sternum and thickens toward the shoulder, like bone density would naturally vary. Small detail but it's the difference between "procedural pattern" and "this looks like it grew there." ( this was done using wireframe, solidify and subdivision modifiers on a base mesh, also decimate it first to get the wireframe broken down and in a web like structure and its the decimate value that controls and overall density of the Voronoi here)
Red cabling throughout is the visual thread tying the whole figure together: from the throat down through the open chest cavity, it's meant to read like a circulatory system that just happens to be wires instead of veins. Crimson Vein isn't just a cool name, it's literally what the design is doing.
Skin shading and the freckles were also added in Daz before porting to blender deliberately to have a humane touch to rather cold metallic structure. That contrast is the whole point of the piece.
Cold tech, warm skin, and a spine you can see straight through.

A better view from the side, the ribcage was tweaked to flow from the back to the front, added additional rigcage bones and extra set of vertebras in the front to give the overall cage a better integrity , wanted it to flow in a manner it seemed a tad bit believable and hope was able to portray and bring that from concept to actual play
