Sole the moon watcher

'Sole' is not just a character's name; it is my own name, and one of the identities I hold. Depending on the language, 'Sole' carries multiple meanings—'Sun' in Latin, 'Solitude' in English and 'Sound of the wind' in Chinese Character. For this contest, I imagined a robot who has a persona of solitude. Born from the cold, desolate reaches of a forgotten star, Sole is a robotic entity defined by this inherent loneliness. Abandoned in the deep vacuum of space, it has evolved a unique way to captivate other beings by turning its own body into a beacon. It's attraction is not for purpose, but in the desperate, beautiful hope to reach out and break the silence of her lonely cosmos.
Design Details :
The design of 'Sole' is inspired by lingerie, serving as a visual metaphor for the character's profound solitude. Just as lingerie exists at the most intimate layer of the human body, it represents the vulnerable, hidden core of one's consciousness. By dressing this cold, robotic entity in elements of fragility and allure, I intended to transform its isolation into a mesmerizing, sensory experience. It is a dialogue between the machine’s cold exterior and the longing for human connection.
Technical Details:
This is an original character design, crafted from the ground up. The entire project was modeled, textured, rigged and rendered in Blender. CLO was used for clothes modeling. No AI used.
