1 Hour agoWhen I started the rule of thumb was that the distance at the bottom and the distance on top should be about the same. This was said to be true for the sides as well, but I disagree with that: it makes sense to consider the line of vision and also the intention: far to one side with space on the other does make sense with some contexts (lonliness, separation....).
