The file called it social infiltration. Three nights at a noodle counter under a neon sign that said TEA HOUSE, learning how someone holds a room without performing it.
Her name meant void. Zero. Nothing there.
I watched her and thought that's wrong.
She came back the next night. And the night after. She didn't resist when it was time to bring her in — she came willingly. Which should have told me something, and didn't, until the room, the questions, the machine that already knew the answer.
Some distances aren't measured. They're crossed.
