Render Queue Pro for DAZ Studio 6
RENDER QUEUE PRO: ONE RENDER QUEUE TO RULE THEM ALL.
Version 1.0.0
For DAZ Studio 6 on Windows 64-bit
Created by GTSX-3D
Total Control. Unattended Rendering.
Were you hesitant to upgrade to DAZ Studio 6 because ManFriday's original Render Queue plugin no longer works with it?
The original standalone Render Queue was built for DAZ Studio 4 and cannot simply be loaded into DAZ Studio 6 because DAZ Studio 6 uses a new plugin SDK and Qt 6 runtime. DAZ now provides batch-rendering functionality through DAZ Studio Premier, which requires an ongoing Premier membership.
I wanted another option: a dedicated render queue built specifically for DAZ Studio 6 that you can actually own.
After months of development, testing, and refinement, I created Render Queue Lite and Render Queue Pro. Lite is completely free and provides the essential render queue workflow. Pro adds the full automation, customization, diagnostics, notification, restart, and shutdown feature set for a one-time purchase.
Render Queue Pro is available for $40 as a one-time purchase. There is no subscription or recurring fee required to continue using the purchased version.
Want to try the essential workflow first? A free version, Render Queue Lite, is also available on RenderHub.
---
WHAT IS RENDER QUEUE PRO?
Render Queue Pro lets you prepare a list of saved DAZ Studio scenes and render them automatically, one after another. You choose the order, output locations, filenames, cameras, render settings, restart behavior, and what happens when the queue is complete.
Render Queue Pro handles the repetitive work while keeping every source scene file unchanged. Add your scenes, review the queue, press Start, and let the plugin do the rest.
---
WHY I MADE IT
I love DAZ Studio and use it almost every day as a 3D content creator. A render queue is essential to my workflow because I often prepare several scenes during the day and let them render while I am away from the computer.
The original standalone Render Queue by ManFriday was made for DAZ Studio 4. Native DAZ Studio 4 plugins cannot simply be loaded into DAZ Studio 6 because DAZ Studio 6 uses a new plugin SDK and Qt 6 runtime.
DAZ now includes batch-rendering functionality with DAZ Studio Premier, which is available through an ongoing Premier membership. At the time of writing, DAZ lists Premier at $199 per year or $18.98 per month.
Premier includes many benefits beyond batch rendering, but a subscription was not the right fit for me. I wanted a focused render queue built specifically for DAZ Studio 6, with a free edition for the essential workflow and a more powerful edition available through a single purchase.
That is why I created two editions:
Render Queue Lite: Completely free to download and use. Lite provides the essential queue workflow with a maximum of 20 pending, failed, or skipped scenes. No subscription. The free version is available on RenderHub.
Render Queue Pro: Available for $40 as a one-time purchase. Pro removes the Lite queue limit and includes the complete automation, customization, diagnostics, notification, restart, and shutdown feature set. No recurring payment is required to keep using the purchased version.
I spent a great deal of time designing, building, testing, and documenting this plugin. The Pro edition helps support that work. I also intend to maintain compatibility as DAZ Studio 6 evolves, although compatibility with a future DAZ Studio build can only be confirmed after I have tested that build and its matching SDK.
Render Queue Lite and Render Queue Pro are original, independent GTSX-3D plugins. They are not copies, modifications, or repackaged versions of ManFriday's plugin or DAZ Studio Premier's Render Queue.
---
1. BUILD AND ORGANIZE YOUR QUEUE
Add one or many saved .duf scenes, or use Add Current to add the scene already open in DAZ Studio without browsing for it again.
Protect unsaved work when using Add Current or starting the queue. You can save the current scene, use or reopen its last saved version, discard the in-memory changes when appropriate, or cancel before the queue proceeds.
Select several rows and move them together. Move selected rows up, down, directly to the top, or directly to the bottom.
Remove selected rows without deleting the original scenes or rendered images.
Save your queue to a .rqp.json file and open it again in a later DAZ Studio session.
Remember the last queue file and reopen it automatically when available.
Autosave normal queue edits after the queue has been saved once.
Remove all successful rows with Clean Up Successes while keeping failed and pending work.
Preserve queue progress after an interruption or intentional DAZ Studio restart.
---
2. CONTROL EVERY OUTPUT
Choose PNG or JPEG as the default output format for newly added scenes.
Select one or multiple queue rows and change their PNG or JPEG format directly from the queue settings.
Choose one main output folder for the queue, or assign a different output folder to one scene or a group of selected scenes.
Edit the output filename of an individual scene.
Generate safe, unique output names when filenames would collide.
Existing rendered images are never silently overwritten.
Batch rename selected outputs with text added before or after the name.
Use literal find and replace or regular expressions.
Add configurable numbering before or after filenames, including the starting number, step, number of digits, and separator.
Preview and validate every batch rename before applying it.
---
3. INSPECT SCENES WITHOUT OPENING THEM
Read plain or compressed .duf files without modifying them.
Show the camera saved with the scene and list the available scene cameras.
Show the saved render resolution and active renderer.
Read supported NVIDIA Iray settings.
Detect when a scene file has changed after it was inspected.
Detect a saved Perspective View before rendering. By default, the affected row is marked Skipped and the queue immediately continues with the next scene. You can choose a real camera or explicitly allow Perspective View when it is intentional.
---
4. CUSTOMIZE EACH SCENE IN THE QUEUE
Edit one scene or several selected scenes at the same time. Shared camera, resolution, Iray, output, and post-render settings can be applied to every selected row in one operation.
Use the camera saved in the scene or choose a different camera for one or more selected queue rows.
Add the same scene more than once and render each copy with a different camera or output name.
Override the width and height for individual renders.
Enable or disable the NVIDIA Iray post denoiser and choose the iteration at which the denoiser begins.
Override minimum samples, maximum samples, and maximum render time.
Override quality convergence, rendering quality, and converged ratio.
Override denoiser memory, alpha denoising, firefly filtering, caustic sampling, guided sampling, and low-memory ray tracing when DAZ Studio exposes those settings.
Explicitly allow Perspective View for a scene when it is genuinely intended.
All overrides are applied temporarily without rewriting the source .duf file.
The previous DAZ Studio render state is restored after the attempt.
---
5. RUN UNATTENDED
Open every queued scene automatically.
Wait for scene loading and visible background work to finish.
Apply an additional configurable settle delay before rendering.
Suppress common decision dialogs during scene opening, closing, and restarting so the queue can continue without intervention. Informational loading progress remains visible because it does not require user input.
Choose No when DAZ Studio asks to save a queue-opened scene, ensuring the plugin never overwrites the source scene for you.
Show or hide the DAZ Studio render preview window.
Pause at a safe boundary and resume later.
Record scene-specific failures or skipped jobs with their status, timing, messages, and available diagnostic evidence, then continue with the next runnable scene. The queue pauses only when continuing cannot be done safely.
Dialog suppression covers common DAZ Studio prompts. A third-party plugin, license window, or unfamiliar modal dialog can still require attention. Test important scenes before leaving a long queue unattended.
---
6. CHOOSE WHAT HAPPENS BETWEEN SCENES
Each queue row can use its own post-render action:
Continue: Open the next scene in the same DAZ Studio process.
Soft Restart: Ask DAZ Studio to close normally, relaunch it, and resume the saved queue automatically.
Forced Kill and Restart: Terminate only the verified queue-owned DAZ Studio process, relaunch it, and resume the queue. This is a last-resort option for systems that cannot close reliably through a soft restart.
The final runnable scene never restarts DAZ Studio unnecessarily. It finishes the queue normally or begins the optional Windows shutdown countdown.
---
7. FOLLOW PROGRESS AND DIAGNOSE PROBLEMS
See the number of completed jobs and the current queue phase.
See elapsed time for loading, settling, rendering, verification, and the complete attempt.
See an estimated remaining time based on completed work.
Follow retained DAZ Studio and Iray messages for the selected scene.
See live iteration and convergence messages when the renderer reports them.
Keep attempt history, timing, warnings, and output metadata inside the saved queue.
Receive optional Windows desktop notifications for completion, failure, suspicious output, restart failure, and shutdown failure.
---
8. VERIFY EVERY COMPLETED RENDER
Render Queue Pro marks a job successful only after DAZ Studio reports success and the expected output:
Exists at the requested path.
Is not empty.
Can be decoded as an image.
Matches an explicitly overridden resolution.
The plugin can also detect and report:
Missing, empty, or unreadable output files.
Fully transparent output or nearly black output, which can indicate a failed render, camera clipping, or another scene problem.
Renderer messages related to CUDA, OptiX, allocation, device, or memory failures.
An accidental Perspective View job before rendering. By default, the row is marked Skipped and the remaining queue continues. If Perspective View was explicitly allowed, the completed result retains a warning so you can identify it later.
A mismatch between the requested and saved image dimensions.
A dark image is not automatically proof of a GPU or VRAM failure. By default, suspicious dark or transparent output completes with a warning. You can choose to treat it as a failure when that policy is more appropriate for your queue.
---
9. SHUT DOWN THE COMPUTER WHEN THE QUEUE IS COMPLETE
You can ask Render Queue Pro to shut down Windows after the last successful render.
Shutdown is disabled by default. When enabled, it is requested only after the final image is verified and the completed queue state is saved. Failed, paused, interrupted, or unsaved runs do not trigger shutdown.
The default countdown is 60 seconds. You can cancel the shutdown from the plugin before the countdown finishes.
---
RENDER QUEUE LITE VS. RENDER QUEUE PRO
RENDER QUEUE LITE
Render Queue Lite is completely free. It lets you add saved scenes or the currently open scene, save and reopen queue files, reorder multiple selected rows, and render scenes with the settings stored in each .duf file.
Lite performs an automatic soft restart between scenes and finishes normally after the final scene.
Lite allows a maximum of 20 pending, failed, or skipped scenes at one time. A clearly visible counter shows how many queue slots remain. Completed scenes do not count toward the limit.
Price: FREE
Subscription: None
Available on: RenderHub
RENDER QUEUE PRO
Render Queue Pro removes the Lite queue limit and adds per-scene output folders and formats, multi-scene editing, camera and render-setting overrides, batch renaming, configurable actions between scenes, detailed progress and diagnostics, output verification, notifications, and optional computer shutdown after a completely successful queue.
Price: $40 one-time purchase
Subscription: None
Neither edition requires a subscription.
---
REQUIREMENTS
DAZ Studio 6 for Windows 64-bit.
Saved and readable .duf scene files.
Existing output folders with write permission.
The assets required by each scene.
Enough free disk space for the planned renders.
The plugin is installed manually by copying its DLL and matching readable PowerShell restart helper into the DAZ Studio 6 plugins folder. Both files must remain together and must come from the same release package.
The PowerShell helper is required because a DLL running inside DAZ Studio cannot relaunch DAZ Studio after its own host process has closed. The helper performs no networking, downloads, registry changes, software installation, or administrator elevation while running, and is fully inspectable with a text editor such as Notepad.
---
CURRENT SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS
One queue row renders one still image from the current frame.
Animation ranges are not supported in version 1.0.0.
The plugin does not automatically expand every camera into separate jobs.
The plugin does not run arbitrary pre-render or post-render scripts.
Source .duf files are never rewritten.
Existing output images are never overwritten silently.
Filament engine renders are not currently supported.
