Juwi Arashi for Genesis 8 Female
In this work, I use the female figure as a medium for exploring form, light, and visual stillness. I treat the body not as a personal identity, but as a structure—an anatomical landscape where volume, surface, and proportions are in dialogue.
I deliberately chose a soft realist approach, eschewing harsh details and exaggerated expressions. The texture of the skin is treated almost like a sculptural material: smooth, calm, and slowly absorbing light. For me,
light is not simply a technical element, but a sculptural tool that reveals the body's mass and rhythm.
In the face, I restrain the emotional narrative. The eyes, nose, lips, and eyebrows are shaped to maintain balance, not to tell an explicit story. The stillness of expression instead allows the viewer to be present without being directed.
I construct the figure's body—especially the chest, hips, and thighs—with attention to the continuity of form. No point stands alone; every curve is born from another. This approach is inspired by classical figurative sculpture, but translated through a contemporary digital visual language.
Through this work, I don't seek to create a particular sensation or ideal, but rather to offer a space for contemplation: a meeting between technology and tradition, between the body as a visual object and the body as an aesthetic structure.
I invite the viewer to slow their gaze and see beauty in balance, not in dramatization.
