Falco Flying Boat 3D Model
It has been good 40 years since the anime aired and I remember watching it on Italian TV as a child. To be honest, all I could remember was a beautiful yellow aircraft. Since I couldn't find any decent 3d model of the famous Falco, I decided to watch the anime again and model the Falco myself. The model is game ready (and game tested), skinned, rigged and textured. (watch the video for full rig description) The textures are PBR ready (8K and 4K) and the polycount is around 305K, so the model should also work fine in VR.
I.E.C. - ARMAT 08 flying boat : The Industria Engineering Corp designed the ARMAT 08 (Agressive Reconnaissance Maritime Amphibious Transport) as a multi role combat aircraft for the Industrian militia. To protect it from sea water and elements, the massive turbocharged engine was placed inside the hull and air intakes were placed in the wing roots. The thick wings also contain 2 massive fuel tanks that provide the aircraft with over 8 hours of autonomy. With its 3 gunners, 2 inflatable boats and 8 troops capacity, it served as a troop transport, light attack, search and rescue and coastal patrol aircraft. After barely surviving its deadly encounter with the Giganto bomber, Falco, the last of the ARMAT 08 flying boats, was actually repaired and upgraded with retractable landing gear and thus became fully amphibious.
