This model is extremely easy to print and is perfect for both beginners and advanced makers. It works great on both FDM and Resin (SLA) 3D printers.
For FDM 3D Printing:
Print Orientation: Place the flat bottom of the tray directly onto the build plate.
Supports: NONE. This is a 100% print-in-place design.
Layer Height: 0.12mm to 0.16mm is highly recommended. A lower layer height will make the spherical "beads" on the rim look much smoother and minimize visible layer lines on the curves.
Infill: 15% (Lightning, Grid, or Gyroid).
Walls/Perimeters: 3 walls for a solid, sturdy rim.
Top/Bottom Layers: Minimum of 4 top and bottom layers to ensure a smooth, watertight-looking base.
Recommended Materials: PLA, PLA Silk (for a shiny, pearl-like finish), or Marble PLA (for a stone aesthetic).
For SLA/Resin Printing:
Print flat on the build plate or at a slight 15-degree angle with light supports generated at the bottom edge. Resin will provide an incredibly smooth, manufactured look for the beaded rim.
