King Thanos is a future, alternate-timeline iteration of the Mad Titan who, unlike his MCU counterpart, successfully defeated all heroes and conquered the universe. Appearing primarily in Marvel Comics (Thanos Vol 2 #13), he is a desperate, elderly ruler who kills to impress Lady Death, ultimately battling a younger version of himself. Thanos is a fictional Marvel Comics supervillain and genocidal warlord from the moon Titan. Created by writer-artist Jim Starlin, he debuted in 1973. Best known for his cinematic role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he is universally feared for seeking to wipe out half of all life to "save" the universe from overpopulation.
