In Europe, the Japanese Micro models were first offered since the 1980s mostly with larger engines almost exclusively than in sedan form. The Japanese manufacturer Daihatsu, mainly for Toyota belonging Corporation, the Europeans then made familiar with the variety of Kei cars. In addition to the classic Daihatsu Cuore micro-vans as the Daihatsu Move and small SUVs came like the Daihatsu Terios or flatbed model Daihatsu Hijet on the market. In Year 2002, the Asians extended their program to a new model; the first micro-convertible-coupe in the companys history was the Daihatsu Copen.
Daihatsu Copen - Right Hand Drive
As unusual impacted the shapes and dimensions of the Daihatsu Copen in many European viewers are unusual. They brought little convertible coup two years after the start of production in Japan to Europe. In the Year 2006, the manufacturer of the Daihatsu Copen then converted the version with the steering wheel in the usual for most Europeans left position.
Folding Roof Made of Aluminum
Daihatsu Copen drove in the class of classic British roadsters, as they had placed more emphasis on purism as the comfort. The design of the Copen is similar but certainly had nothing in common with British certainly. The nearly 3.40 meters long and 1.47 meter wide body was a conspicuous roundish appearance in at an altitude of over 1.24 meters convertible class. The trend, however, the manufacturers lay with their decision to construct the Daihatsu Copen as Coup -Cabriolet. Special feature of the folding roof: It consisted of the light metal is aluminum.

The Daihatsu Copen was in Europe from 2006 with a 1.3 liter gasoline engine, which carried 64 kW (87 hp). It offers 16 valves turbo DOHC 4 cylinder and power 63 hp (47 kW; 64 PS) @ 6000 rpm. Transmission are both manual KPMZ 5-speed with ratios 3.181, 1.842, 1.250, 0.916, and 0.750 and automatic KBPZ CVT with ratio 3.327 to 0.628.
