Steam Locomotive and Tender - Animated Express PBR 3D Model
Animated steam locomotive and tender with an authored wheel and connecting-rod cycle. This v003 Express edition uses the owner’s current textures and retains the visible Grand Canyon / No. 29 markings shown in the gallery.
Included downloads
• Editable Blender 5.2.1 LTS scene with packed textures and authored material/displacement graphs.
• Animated FBX 7.4 binary with embedded PBR textures.
• Animated GLB (glTF 2.0) with embedded PBR textures.
• Portable texture folders and a README for each format.
The product contains 20 mesh objects, three materials and one TrainRig armature with 20 bones. Eighteen bones move in the baked wheel/linkage animation. The native Blender and GLB animation spans frames 0–30 at 24 fps; FBX imports into Blender at frames 1–31.
Texture resolutions are 2K for the Express body and smaller-object maps, with two 512-pixel valve maps: 12 active source maps in total. FBX embeds 10 unique PBR maps; GLB embeds eight images after metallic/roughness packing. Both exchange folders also include 12 separate portable maps, including optional height maps for manual setup. There is no 4K edition.
Source geometry: 231,718 polygons and 250,302 vertices. Evaluated/export geometry: 473,584 triangles. Approximate dimensions at frame zero: 19.618 3.475 4.760 metres.
Fresh archive extraction and Blender reopen/reimport checks verified the product geometry, packed or embedded texture data and sampled animation poses. FBX/GLB bake the motion; they do not preserve Blender’s editable constraint/displacement authoring graphs.
Rails, track following, smoke, audio, gameplay logic and studio staging are not included. No game-engine, printing or other DCC compatibility certification is claimed. Use is governed by the license displayed on this RenderHub page.
