Substation Bus is a fundamental component of an electric power station or substation used as node point for incoming or outgoing circuits (transmission lines) it comply of a supporting steel structure or steel pylon over it porcelain insulators discs are placed to hold rigid copper conductors which are also known as Bus Bar or Bus Bars. these days Copper conductors are getting replaced by aluminum conductors. The conductors are built hollo for cooling purpose and they carry high rated current at certain rated voltage depending on the purpose for which they are built for.
The HV Substation bus are generally built / available in standard rating as follows:
11 kv bus
33 kv bus
66 kv bus
132 kv bus
220 kv bus
440 kv bus
715 kv bus
HV Substation bus are classified as
Low voltage bus
medium voltage bus
high voltage bus
Extra high voltage bus
Ultra high voltage bus
