Goosebumps for Genesis 9
"All it takes is an old radio suddenly playing the good song…"
This package contains a bunch of .jpg images you can use as an additional layer on top of your Genesis 9 skin bump maps.
There are two sets: one with larger goosebumps and one with finer, denser bumps.
Additionally, there are maps for anatomical elements and partial goose bump maps for the body.
There is also the 8k_White_Dots.png you can use to generate your own if needs arise.
You can add goosebumps on top of existing bump maps using Photoshop/GIMP/etc.,
or via Daz Studio’s built-in Layered Texture Editor (LIE).
There's no one click solution, using these require some work.
NOTE:
The promo images here are pretty much cranked to the max, for obvious reasons.
But you can use these maps to add very subtle variation on the skin,
just to make your characters a fraction closer to photoreal.
QUICK GUIDE using LIE
- Extract the contents of this package
somewhere you can find them later.
- Open your character/scene in Daz Studio
and select your character.
- Navigate to the Surfaces tab > [your G9 character]
> Surfaces > Body. And find the Base Bump slider.
- Left-click the small icon beside the slider,
then select "Layered Image Editor"
from the top-down menu.
- In LIE, click the Plus button and
choose "Add Image Layer".
- Select Genesis_9_Goosebump_Map_Body.jpg
from the folder you extracted earlier.
- Change the blending mode of the newly
created layer to Additive Blend (Screen
or Lighten will also work).
- Adjust the layer opacity to your liking
(usually ~20–70%). Click Accept, and
repeat for other skin textures (arms, head,
legs, and genitals).
- Additionally, you can also add the same
goosebump map to the 'Base Color' using
approximately 5–15% opacity.
