XCL System Drone 01 3D Model
This is a 2003 design project's prototype drone used for developing UART radio control digital proportional remote control, this drone was built by student with cheap materials such aluminum frame used for windows and cardboard panels for cover the drone circuitry. What allows this drone to move was a pulse detonation thruster that compressed and burned cheap denatured alcohol. The pulse detonation circuit was originally derived from a zapping tennis used to kill mosquito but because it wasn't consistent, the student has to built their own 555 pulse controlled 4000 volts circuit to detonate the fuel. The pulsing shock wave propels the drone forward.
