Napoleon Bonaparte (1769–1821) was a French military leader and emperor who rose to power during the French Revolution, becoming one of history's greatest military commanders.
He conquered much of Europe, introduced major legal and governmental reforms through the Napoleonic Code, and reshaped the continent's political landscape.
After his final defeat at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, he was exiled to the island of Saint Helena, where he died in 1821, leaving a lasting impact on law, politics, and military strategy.
