Kage HotDogBot – Cyberpunk Hot Dog Vending Robot
Hot, fast and always smiling. The HotDogBot from Kage, Neo-Kyoto's maker of the kitchen of tomorrow and a wholly owned subsidiary of the Xanathon Corporation, rolls its tracked chassis up to the street corner and serves hot dogs around the clock. A rotating ring of ingredient pans, three sauce bottles, a bun lift and two three-fingered gripper arms let it assemble every order itself, while a monitor head with a friendly face greets the customers. Payment is by chip or comm at the built-in terminal. Rumour has it that the bot remembers every face it has ever served – but that is surely just an urban legend …
At 1.76 m it is built to real-world scale, ready for cyberpunk streets, night markets, food courts and sci-fi stations.
What's included
- 1 complete robot (load one file, everything is in place)
- 5 hierarchical material presets for the body colour: White (pearl, the default), Grey, Blue, Red and Orange. Select the root node of the robot, then apply a preset.
- 9 single props, each also available as its own file: ketchup, mustard and mayo bottles, bun, sausage, knife, sausage tongs, cheese tongs and onion spoon
The robot
- Tracked chassis with a conical lower body, service door, tech modules and charging port
- Rotating ring with six ingredient pans under split glass lids: sausages, sauerkraut, fried onions, onions, relish and cheddar
- Serving tools hanging on hooks in front of the pans, with drip trays below
- Three sauce bottles in holders, bun tray with lids, bun lift with a two-leaf deck hatch
- Torso with the KAGE logo, payment terminal, napkin dispenser and a price screen
- Monitor head with a friendly face
- Two arms with three-fingered grippers (three joints per finger)
Posable parts
The robot is a hierarchy of separate nodes, not a rigged figure: you pose it by selecting a part and using its rotation or translation dial in the Parameters pane. Every moving part turns only on its own axis, within the range of its mechanical stops; all other dials are locked.
- Lower body, ingredient ring, torso and neck rotate freely around the vertical axis
- Head tilts 75
- Arms: shoulder, upper arm, elbow (−55 to 180), forearm, wrist, rotating hand and finger joints
- Glass lids, bun tray lids and deck hatch open up to 110
- Bun lift raises 0 to 20 cm
- Bottles, tools and pans are free nodes you can pick up and place
Dimensions and geometry
- Height 1.76 m, footprint approx. 98 94 cm, ingredient ring 90 cm across
- 107 nodes (80 meshes, 26 Daz instances of repeated parts such as sausages, buns and pans)
- 149,841 polygons (157,893 including the instances)
Materials and textures
- Iray Uber materials with PBR maps; 29 texture files, most of them 1024 1024 px or smaller
- Face, price screen and status LEDs are emissive surfaces; adjust their brightness in the Surfaces pane (Emission)
- No lights or cameras are included. The glossy shell and glass lids look best with an HDRI or a few lights to reflect.
Compatibility
- Daz Studio 4.24, NVIDIA Iray
- No figures, plugins or other products required
- Not set up for Filament or 3Delight
- Smart Content metadata and Content Library icons included
Installation
- Daz Install Manager (recommended): copy the ZIP unchanged (do not extract or rename it) into your DIM download folder ("Package Archive", DIM: gear icon > Advanced Settings > Downloads), restart DIM and install it from the "Ready to Install" tab.
- Manual: extract the contents of the "Content" folder into your Daz content library (e.g. "My DAZ 3D Library"). If the product does not show up in Smart Content, use Content DB Maintenance > Re-Import Metadata.
To load: In Smart Content, go to Props > Food or Props > Other and double-click "!KageHotDogBot". In the folder-based Content Library you find it under Props > xanathon > KageHotDogBot, together with the single props. The material presets are in Smart Content under Materials > Iray > Architecture, or in the folder "Materials > Iray" next to the robot.
