When Martians arrive on Earth, initially presenting themselves as peaceful, world leaders try to welcome them. However, the aliens soon reveal their true intentions: to invade and exterminate humanity with gleeful violence. Despite attempts by scientists and politicians to broker peace, the Martians continue their global onslaught.

As chaos spreads, various characters — including a sleazy Las Vegas developer a former boxer, a trailer park family, and a talk-show host — each try to survive the attack. Ultimately, the Martians are defeated not by military might, but by an unlikely weakness: a specific yodeling country song (Slim Whitman's "Indian Love Call") that causes their heads to explode.
