It's once again time for our annual girls' vacation in Maine with friends I've known since I'm like 12. That's 54 years as in holy shit, lol!!! So that's 54 years worth of horses, laughter, craziness, then weddings & babies & play dates & now food, wine, cocktails, seafood and even more laughter. Plus sitting on the beach, walks, collecting seaglass and just lots of good times. Leaving next Saturday, busy week ahead so I'll see you all when I get back!!

I envy folks with lifetime friends as my career bounced me around the country (and a bit of the world) and while I have very good friends, they're all relatively recent. All my childhood friends have now either passed on or are not interested in keeping in touch anymore. It doesn't help that I've retired 1400 kms from where I grew up.
I'm an hours drive from the Maine border and it's been awfully dry here. You may not be allowed in the woods due to fires. There's a fleet of water bombers (Bombardier CL-425's) all over the region flying non-stop.
