cheap 3d printer - as a project? UK
64I have an old da Vinci 2.0A Duo sat here doing nothing.
It works (or did last time I printed something 3 years ago). It's not the best printer by far and the xyz company no longer exist. The reason I say project as I recommend flashing the chip or using one of the other hacks to use any filament. You would need to be technically competent to embrace the task of making full use of this beast but it is still a useful and competent tool for the right user.
I'm not really selling this well am I lol.
I would keep it and flash the chip myself. That was my intention yet it is just another job on my long list of stuff and things to do. Will I get around to it in the next two years? unlikely. It is taking up space and seeing it sat there reminds me I failed in making good use of the bloody thing. I used it to prototype some items and to print some portraits before asda (Walmart) had there scanning booths.
Someone out there can make use of it and enjoy the challenge of updating it or use it for spares. It has less than 600 hours use in the 10 plus years I owned it.
I have a few spools of filament abs and pla to go with it and some links to how to flash it and buy new filament. There's an active community supporting the machine's so it's not a lost cause. Note the filament gets brittle after a couple years so it may be unusable! snaps easily. I bought new for a project and stored in a cool dark place should be ok.
Someone will enjoy the project and it would be good to have the thing doing something rather then just catching dust.
I only want 50 quid and collection in person / buyer to organise collection.
If it's no use to any one then It will go in the attic for another few years I guess
Pm me if interested.
more info will be posted bellow.

personal tips from experience - use cheep hair spray to get better grip on the glass plate. prit-stick also works to get the print to stick to the plate better.

Cura is an open source slicing application for 3D printers. This seems to be what they use after flashing the chip.
