Samurai Sword Hand Position
61Before I had knee issues, I studied the art of Iaido, which is the traditional Japanese martial art of drawing and cutting with the samurai sword and achieved 1st Dan. In Iaido, you're taught the correct way of holding the sword. It's not holding the sword like a baseball bat and this seems to be way I see many samurai sword poses. I recommend to vendors to research correct positioning before uploading your product.

I stumbled on this and thankful I did. Hands in some 3d programs do not move like hands should. And it is frustrating to no end! It means that (as you noted) sword holds are incorrect.
I know there is one vendor at Daz that has some hand fixes...but...not right for actual sword or other weapon holding.
