Tue, May 05No you just post the link of the GIF in the comment directly, from giphy for exemple

What I have done is, I upload into my gallery, and then link to it from the forum. You can delete the gallery entry thereafter (is not really deleted, but only you can see it).

Tue, May 05Obviously, it shouldn't be abused, hosting big files cost money to Renderhub. But for a quick show of something in particular it will work.
I said "add the link" but I meant the link to the image, not to the post.

Tue, May 05Oh, @Admin. Please, if this is a TOS violation I'm unaware of, I would love to know.

Tue, May 05Right click on the image, then, copy link, paste the link in your forum post.
two things: I don't see any motion, and the links shows its a video, not a gif

Tue, May 05Yes, I didn't had one with a gif file, and I don't think you can link the video. But a gif file will be similar to the jpg I linked above, it would simply embed the image like thirdeyzennicai showed you.

Tue, May 05Also, I belive you can upload your gif file directly in a post, like this one I did:

This is my problem: I have Gifs I've created that I'd like to post in my gallery. Not the forum. They aren't on the internet in some remote place I can link to. I need a process I can use to accomplish this. Lux's suggestion is that I might be able to do this directly within the gallery, so I will try it.

Tue, May 05Okay, I understand now. I thought you wanted to post a gif here in the forum. You can easily convert your gif to a video (webm or mp4). I use HandBreak to do the conversion, but there are other tools out there too. I just like that Handbreak is small and has plenty of options.
Thanks, it seems odd that you can post a Gif to the forum, but not your gallery unless its converted into a video

Tue, May 05You can probably post it in the comments section. But it seems the image uploading logic limits to only a few extensions. Probably has a technical reason, but that's beyond me

This works, you can easily post a gif in the comments section. Thanks
