I read about this and it looks like it's a poorly implemented moderation bot. You might be able to get your account back if you appeal it.
Either way, I'm so sorry that happened to you. I lost my instagram account a few years ago and it was financially devastating in a way I didn't even know was possible at the time.

Mon, Jun 01yeah, I can appeal it easy but man, I had that Twitter since 2017 and that's where I used to post my art and stuff before coming to Renderhub...

Mon, Jun 01also very terrible to hear about your IG account. anything that fucks up any part of your income absolutely blows D:
This is what Elon means by freedom of speech: the freedom to parrot his (or Don Taco's) opinions

What gets me on this one is that the account was likely terminated by an AI powered moderation bot for "inauthentic behavior" and folks, it just doesn't get any more ironic than that. Skynet anyone?

Mon, Jun 01Its happening everywear, AI mods have taken over lots of things like Twich and Steam; and getting a human to actually review your appeals is becoming difficult. Sometimes the AI didn't even found anything, just recieve false reports by haters or trolls and takes those for granted.
I get that automation/AIs can be useful as a fast first response. But the 'bans' should be pointed as temporal until a human can actually review the case.

Mon, Jun 01huge agreement on temporal bans because it's genuinely ridiculous that companies think AI is the be-all tool for every problem under the sun.
Honestly? I closed my Twitter account the day Musk took it over. I knew what was coming.

I paid for a year premium. I have been suspended under that same catchall 8 times so far 4 months into the year. I appeal it like 10 times, then finally someone looks and unsuspends it, few days later suspended again. Won't pay for premium ever again lol. Spent like 3/4 of the time not able to use the shit I paid for, won't even let you use grok bot when suspended... Was hoping premium would fix the issues I had with my likes and reposts being removed all the time for no reason, or it telling me I am automated all the time when I try to post a comment.

I probably ought to mention something here: don't use any site you don't run as a data store. That's been good advice since the start of the World Wide Web. It is both easy and cheap to own a website as long as it stays small, and personal sites always do. You can set up stores on them, galleries, whatever. Use your social accounts to drive people interested in your work to your own site, that way if the terms change on the corporate site, and they always do, see enshitification, you already have a group of loyal followers on your own site.
And chose a low cost CMS like Wordpress, rather than the more expensive central sites, which again, you don't own and can be shut down if somebody like Wix or DA, or Pixiv, or Substribestar gets a bug up their butt and decides they don't like your content anymore.
If you are serious about cultivating a following anyway.

Mon, Jun 01interestingly enough, i've always wanted to make a site of my own. haven't really brushed up on my HTML skills since high school but I can always give that another go.

27 years ago I had a site on Geocities. It's long gone (Geocities that is) but has been given a spiritual revival via Neocities....
https://neocities.org/
It's not a blog or any kind of social media cancer, just a good old HTML website that YOU control. No coding needed either. Build a site with any WYSIWYG editor and upload it. Give it a whirl.
By the way, my old site is still available via an archive site but don't ask, it's kinda embarrassing now.

Tue, Jun 02ooh yeah, I'm super familiar with Neocities; a bunch of cool sites I've been on in the past few years got made with that.

Your own site is definitely the way to go. I've had my own site for over 10 years. My website is by Weebly . It took about 25 minutes to set it up initially, no coding necessary.

Weebly seems to be more for commercial sites, but thanks for the pointer. It's banned in a bunch of countries according to the Wiki.

Tue, Jun 02Yes, in fact Weebly is being phased out by Square, the new owner. I should have used Weebly only as an example of a readily accessible, easy to set up website provider. There are others that work in a similar way to get websites up and running.
Having your own site is the best way to go. I've had my art site for at least 15 years, but I developed mine myself. I've been doing web design as a freelancer for 20+ years though I'm semi-retired now. There are a number of CMS options out there, just pick one that works best for your needs. But in this day and age, you still have to do social media. Just choose those platforms carefully. Meta platforms will use your content for their AI datasets, it's part of the agreement for using their platform. Private Instagram accounts are exempt from that. Blue Sky is good, tumblr and perhaps Artstation. There are also sites for digital art that forbid the use of AI entirely.
