Reality killed my story idea
180First off, I cannot go into details, here.
I had an idea for an epic story line, and I felt bad for procastrinating it. Now I am happy, I did.
Turns out, my story idea is actually too similar to a real life idea and by writing the story, I would have found myself on the wrong side of it.
That said, my story is gone now and I don't feel the desire to tell it any more.
My story was supposed to be a sci-fi story as part of a bigger Meta-Story and Roxy has been a part of it.
With Meta Story I mean a story outline where other authors can add their ideas into.
Like putting a story into the vessel of a Meta Story.
Since I skipped my story line for reasons, I would avoid naming here in this forum, I decided to share my Meta-Story.
Be aware, that this Meta Story is my intelectual property.
Everyone is welcome to add stories inside this Meta Story universe.
what I like about it:
This plot offers a huge open world and give oportunities to write crazy fantasy stories as well as small almost reality like stories.
I've always considered my "Club 29" comic as part of this world.
Sometimes I hinted, that Roxy has a bigger back story, so you might guess now how.
I wrote this back in 2017 and this story is called:
The AlphaCentaury chronicles
BTW:
I am sorry to tell you, that I only have a german language edition available.
Try to get a translator yourself and I hope you'll like it and feel inspired.

When writing or plotting Sci-Fi and one taking a good time Reality or other peoples work tends to alter what one envisioned.
Sever years ago, i had an idea with premise and backuground setup to build something that would spand multiple novels. But i have a day job and became lazy on my spare time. Then a horrible but famous Sci-fi movie was released that was not exactly what i had in mind, but a part of the setup and the name completly crushed me. I can still reuse the other part of what i had in mind that had nothing to do with that movie, maybe some day i will; but it still put me down hardly at the time.
In a any case. Don't let it turn you down whatever is stoping you. Right or wrong side is a matter of perspective and perspectives always shifts. Also, your 'hero' characters don't need to always be alligned to your point of view or all be of the same opinion. For example, i'm working on a multi story 'universe' and i have main ('good') characters on very different sides of what good/bad 'AIs' is or should be.
Last, is "Club 29" available to read? I always liked your renders, but didn't knew you also write.

Sat, Jun 27I don't really write.
Can't help it to sometimes have those ahm... Mindf@rts.
I force myself to write those down. My story idea would have been a comic story, but I struggled with assets to bring it alive.

A few years ago, I invented quite short stories that were in the form of comics; I made 3 or 4 drawings per day, which I gradually uploaded with a delay of 2 or 3 days to have a small stock to upload if my imagination ran out. Today, I think it's the right strategy to keep the motivation to go to the end of the story when it's not our full-time job.
