Elderly and realistic G8.1 characters
208Lately I’ve seen some nice realistic and older G9 characters. Unfortunately I decided to stay with G8.1 and here it seems that such characters are missing. Is this a limitation of G8.1 or have the view of vendors changed since G9.

I'd like to see them for G8 , there are some nice looking characters and all I'd need is the skin textures

Mon, Aug 03G8 would be ok as well. I do transfer G8 skin to G8.1 though, if feasible.
I doubt this is a limitation of the Genesis 8.1 mesh. The real shift is that Face Transfer works significantly better with Genesis 9 than it ever did with G8, where the results often looked weak or distorted.
This improved workflow makes it extremely easy to feed the software a photograph of an older person, make a few quick adjustments, and put the resulting character up for sale. That likely explains why so many realistic older characters are appearing for G9.
The shortcut can create serious licensing problems, however. Face Transfer uses skin textures derived from Genesis 9 Essentials, which are not a merchant resource and cannot simply be repackaged and resold as part of a commercial character.
There is also a separate issue when photographs of celebrities or other recognizable people are used. The seller may lack permission to use the photograph, and selling the resulting likeness may infringe publicity, personality, privacy, or image rights, depending on the jurisdiction.
G9 is not inherently better at depicting age. It simply makes this process faster and produces more convincing results. What buyers may be seeing is a flood of quickly generated photo-transfer characters rather than carefully hand-sculpted work, and some of those products may have questionable licensing or likeness provenance.
