To me, Suna no utsuwa (castle of sand) is the greatest movie ever made.If anyone has anything to say about this masterpiece which changed my life decades ago, feel free to share it here.Spoiler alert: Watch it first. Please, this is the kind of movie which will change your life.

Matsumoto supplies the intricate crime and its social wound; Nomura turns it into a vast, mournful investigation of identity, stigma, poverty, and postwar guilt even if some of .Matsumoto's elements are left off (the way ****** killls offf people).
