I had a daracrash and lost 1 TB of data in my Workshop. The Program I get from Net : Wondershare Recoverit for about 45 Bucks
was a mess. It looses most of the data, character and texture-directorys.
On my older diskes I found most of them, but the Characters I have to rebuild from my saved *.OBJ-files.
Shit happens

I am sad for you frown

Ever since my first big data loss 20 years ago I have stuck to the original rule of backing up in three places

If you havent already stop using the drive, download test disk and look up how to use it. It can do just as well as any paid software but it is free. You do have to be careful because mistakes can make things worse.
If the drive is old you might want to get cleardiskinfo or something to check the drives health.  DDrescue (free but linux based) or other tools to clone the entire drive to a newer one might be worth using if you can afford it and the health isnt very good.

I'm familiar with the problem; I've experienced it several times. Among other things, I lost photos from a 2021 trip to Cameroon and a 2014 trip to Russia, as well as 3D source files-basically, all the files created between backups, which I don't perform often enough...
