I see some DAZ products here by several vendors which all look very similar ( very ). There is a telltale characteristic of the promo images which they all share, so I'm interested if these are all one person with multiple accounts?

I had two accounts to keep my NSFW content separate from my SFW (family-friendly) content. I think that is (or was) a legitimate use, right?

Tue, Sep 29However, I did mention my 'double life' right after I created the second account

Tue, Sep 29I do have my own NSFW account as well for explicit renders, tho it was made quite shortly before the adult content purge lmao
I only have one, and I also mostly buy from vendors I've known for a long time, like you guys, so I haven't noticed similar multi-vendors. The only reason I can think of for having multiple accounts would be something like what Pushee-Ri was doing, also in case one account gets banned for TOS, their product gets randomly deleted, etc. In other words, it could be a side effect of recent events. But it could also be people dealing with content they know they have no rights to (they didn't make it). Or something.

Tue, Sep 29Also, don’t discount AI bots making accounts. I recently had my IP blocked and had to request that it be unblocked, which means Renderhub must be having some sort of weird issues, although this is just my simple speculation.
When you have a moment, take a look at the DAZ Content part of the store, and note how many vendors promo images show only the front view of the head, no matter which way the body is facing the head is always turned facing the viewer, it's uncanny, almost as if that's the only angle that the head looks natural...

Tue, Sep 29'----- it's uncanny, almost as if that's the only angle that the head looks natural...'
And maybe that's already the solution: only use it frontally
Unfortunately, this isn't even a joke... and it's not limited to the RH Shop either: one of my favorite models (Eve 8.1 by HID3D, DAZ Store) looks absolutely stunning from the front... but looks like it was carved out of wood from the side (though that's just my opinion).

Tue, Sep 29I see what you mean. Pure frontal, full-face view, zero expression. One I saw was pretty good, an older woman with very wrinkly skin.
The skin alone is perfect, but perfect in the sense that it must be a wrap from real images (I'm not saying that's bad, I just don't think I have the right to use someone else's likeness, at least not on purpose). And in almost every shot, even when the body isn't fully frontal, the face still is. I bet that's trying to hide the fact that all the wrinkle detail isn't natural light bouncing off a normal map or displacement.
Feels like a tool made some of the ones I noticed, with at most, minimal human correction, but not enough for a smile, hi, hi, hi.

Tue, Sep 29One time I picked up a character whose facial expression was part of the morph. Like, I was stuck using that expression. Made it work, but boy was that limiting.

Fri, Oct 09I remember a similar situation, it was a well established Daz3d PA, and I relaly liked the female characters look, but she the face and head morph looked just aweful from the side view or any non straight on angle. I kept the product but i deicded to not buy from that PA again.
I will not mention the name.
I will not mention the name.
Seems to me they are probably done with Face Transfer or Facegen. I bought one ( no names since it would be unfair to single one out ) and the wrinkles and pores are just shadows burned into the diffuse texture, so only useable if the lights in my scene match those used to create the texture map. It does seem strange though that multiple vendors seem to be doing the same thing.

Yeah, it's not optimal. I do bake subdermal (veins, for example), although I tend not to make it as obvious. I don't do occlusion or light effects, though (pores, shadows).

This skin has taken me over a month... not kidding. And it still needs a lot of work.

And most of them are stolen characters from real PAs. I see Feng's characters print in all of these "products" from this cunt using multiple accounts with similar promos:
https://www.renderhub.com/ratintie/profile
This website has zero integrity. And, well, neither does Daz itself. At least RenderHub DOES disclose AI use in their products, while Daz says: "AI is not allowed, and if you report it in a ticket, well, prove it" yet there you have Polish, Xivon, Matari3D, and Giko blatantly using it, with Meshy and Tripo 3D meshes on the shop or textures with Grok and Gemini's watermark on them.
And add to that the low effort and shitty quality of the same reused characters from Chyrt, ColmJackson, Mousso, Vo, Pendragon, PDF MagicBrush, and MarcosGAB's underage-looking girls (just visit the gallery on their profiles and then come tell me they aren't for child corn). What a great moment to be a Daz user.

Sat, Oct 10I know what you mean. I'm constantly lamenting the lack of octogenarian figures, on the verge of expiration - truly an underserved market. It's a terrible thing that the world finds certain things attractive and others less so, unless there is a niche fetish for it that some vendor might serve.
Possibly the saturation of certain types of figures speaks to their popularity and salability? And the dearth of others the opposite? I'm merely speculating of course.
While AI is not always something to aspire to, it can be a useful tool, and is in a constant state of flux, always it seems improving. If it does something to help keep our niche hobby alive, I'm not certain I can complain.

Sat, Oct 10Nobody was asking why certain figures sell; the point was that some vendors may be ripping off other artists and getting away with it. Something being profitable doesn't make it legitimate, and your little lecture about market demand does absolutely nothing to address that.

Sat, Oct 10Alas, sarcasm is a lost art it seems - as you chose to ignore the initial part of my comment.
I would scarcely call the second line a lecture, little or otherwise, merely a commentary on the last part of your post.
While my last line is more directed toward your middle point. True, I didn't address your points in order, but I didn't feel compelled to somehow.
I would grant that perhaps your initial premise is not without some validity.
In any event, you're the one who brought up topics unrelated to 'stolen' characters (or in this case I would say textures I guess), instead crapping on seven different vendors who apparently make their own stuff and sell consistently and well, so possibly the market for what they make is broader than for the style Feng produces - otherwise we'd see more of that, wouldn't we?
Irrespective of market saturation, all of the PAs on Daz especially, but here too have a tendency to produce characters that have a familial likeness to one another that makes them if not related, then at least identifiable to the artist who created them. There are only a few who don't and it's possible that it's simply because they have yet to produce many figures yet. Interestingly, the one area where I would claim this doesn't happen are celebrity likenesses, because they tend to be unique from one another. Take RKStudio for instance, they're fairly identifiable as being from them, but don't look like each other. TotoCandy too. HID3D is pretty good at making unique figures as well.

Some vendors hire professional render people to do their promo images, which could explain how more than one vendor might end up with the same style of renders for their stores..

Tue, Sep 29Suuuuuuuuuure, most of them make 0 budget products (clones of clones of clones) but their promos are similar because they hired a promo artist...
One of the tell-tale signs of multiple accounts I'm seeing is that the same image masks are being used on the faces when skin building. These accounts also show signs that the "artist" is color blind, the face will have a green cast to it but just in the "masked" area, and the green is a similar shade throughout each of the characters just in varying amounts. I had reached out to one of the vendors asking if they were color-blind, and they willingly stated they were and wanted to know if I could "teach" them to fix the issue. And sure, a number of people ARE colorblind, but that many new vendors at around the same time period using the same face "mask"? Now, if I see a character that catches my attention, I have to check out the artist's gallery to make sure their characters don't follow in the same vein.

Sat, Oct 10I wondered about that, I never got around to asking what the deal was. Thanks for the info.
RenderHub needs to maintain product quality-or the quality of its sellers-by employing a product tester, much like Renderosity does. (This is just my opinion, as someone who cares about RenderHub's future.)

Fri, Oct 09That can be a good thing and a bad thing. I know there have been some products here that never saw light of day on other places because of some seemingly-arbitrary reason or another.
@JackVeres, be careful what you wish for. There are very obvious downsides to that, not to mention that it starts out great and ends up with a queue of 2 months to release a product, after waiting for a week because the "Read Me.txt" was spelled as "ReadMe.txt". (I'm exaggerating an example, but I have been there, just not at Renderosity.)
Also, I have bought plenty of products from every store out there, and product tested or not, they have come with plenty of issues.
I'm all for letting the market decide. This thread is pretty good at that, and now people are aware that green saturation colored textures are being mass produced (or at least that's what I get from the OP).
(I'm sorry if the above sounds confrontational but I'm not trying to start an argument, just want to leave my thoughts on this),

Fri, Oct 09Now that I think about it... I need to learn how to make green textures, I can fix that easily, but ufff, I've spent almost two weeks in just my next character lips and I'm still unsatisfied
