costing (CLOSED)

Hi all
What is the average cost of , photos to model ready for print ?
What is the cost of , taking a stl file , and adding or taking parts and resizing it ?
I dont do either at the moment but , i have been all over the net getting quotes and jeez , some are , well just lets say , x certificate .
example :: resizing an 88mm figure and making it 140mm ready to 3d print.
For some unknown reason some files i have purchased are very very big
Help and advice is welcome

Hey John.
Are you saying that when the item is imported it is too large? Usually you can simply scale it down to the size you need. What software are you using?

Hi lon.
at the moment i am learning fusion 360 , but , i dont have printer or software yet .
i have bought a couple of stl files and downloaded a couple , i imported tem as mesh into the fusion , but no joy , and this was after studying video tutorials for days.
What i have done is upload file to online 3d printing service , but 2 of the files are coming up as in excess of 1000mm. and price quotations are 12,000 +

You really should check out Blender : https://www.blender.org/
Its completely free, and SUPER powerful!
to scale your item
- open blender,
- import STL (if you don't see import for STL, you can add the functionality in settings)
- once imported, hit "A" to select all (you may have to hit a twice, just be sure your entire model is selected)
- hit "S" for scale
- type numeric value to scale by, so to make it half size type ".5"
- hit enter
- export back out to STL
