I would love to find a modern western-style judge's robe for G8F/G8M, preferably one that can be worn over other clothing, like a suit. I have everything else I need for a courtroom scene except for this item. dForce would be a plus. Thanks...

I don't think such an item would be a huge seller, but I'll bet there would be enough buyers out there to at least make it worth a content creator's time, especially as there are literally no other alternative products on the market for it to compete with, at least that I can see.

All I found were forum threads on the Daz site, from 2018 to present, with people asking for the same thing.
I sent that vendor a message with a link to this thread. Hopefully they, or someone else can make this.

Mon, Aug 01, 2022I suggest finding a pattern for one, and trying a 1 month sub to Marvelous Designer. 1 month would give you enough time to learn the program, and make one. I imagine that the pattern would be quite simple. Where you would take it from there, would be up to you.
There's also a Blender addon that provides some features that MD has regarding clothing from patterns and cloth simulation, but I don't remember if it's a free or paid addon.

Mon, Aug 01, 2022Thank you for the suggestion, but rental software is a business model I absolutely despise and I refuse to support it. I think MD also has a lifetime license, but if I remember correctly, it's almost $2K, so it's out of my reach. I am learning Blender right now, but I'm not ready to create something even as modest as this yet.

Tue, Aug 02, 2022MD recently ditched the perpetual licenses. I got in just before that change, and was able to upgrade to version 10. It does have a 30 day trial. Blender has two options that I know of: Modeling Cloth, and Cloth Weaver. Neither have been updated in a while, but they should work with at least Blender 3.0. Modeling Cloth has a free version that should work with Blender 2.9.

Tue, Aug 02, 2022Yeah, I remember when I was just about to purchase my first copy of Photoshop when I discovered that Adobe had switched to the subscription model. That was bad enough, but then they also refused to keep selling the older versions with the perpetual license. God, I was pissed. Thanks for the info on the plug-ins, I'll have to check them out.

Thu, Apr 06, 2023OH thank you! Glad maybe it filled the gap! I was a little shocked myself to realize nobody had ever made a judge robe. If you find anything else like that - let me know. I'm always looking for new ideas and things no one has done - are usually the best!
