I really don't know, why you have to pay 60 $ for a character?
There is nothing in these character packages, that justifies such an insane high prize.
This is just usury !

The character morph is more or less a freebie. The high-res, custom skin is what you're paying for.

Mon, Oct 24, 2022What can I say? It's a niche thing, and a more or less bespoke one at that. If it's something you really want, you'll pay it. If it's not, you won't.
I can understand their reasoning on many levels as a jeweler. A piece I make might be only $15 worth of silver and $30 of turquoise, but I'll be damned if I'm letting it got for its raw parts. You pay for what I put into it that no one else can be bothered to. If you want wholesale jewelry prices, skip past me and buy wholesale jewelry.
But being a digital item, it's likely going to be thrown on a pirating site or two the moment someone buys it. Might as well get paid, even if it's only once.

Mon, Oct 24, 2022I've found at least one here that are just slight makeovers of someone else's work with less features that try to sell it for the same price as the piece they ripped off, or one that sells for around 60 that's a Daz Original head haphazardly thrown onto a disproportionate body. I feel those are far more BS. And I'm sure as heck not going to come to the forum to publicly flog them, because it's kind of a sh*tty thing to do to a vendor that at least makes their own stuff.

Mon, Oct 24, 2022...that's what the Report button and contacting the original vendor are for. But at least HumanXY's are their own.
I dont think usury is the word youre going for, that specifically means lending money at an unreasonable high rate of interest.
I personally wouldnt pay that much, either, but theres nothing wrong with charging it. Im sure the vendor recognizes those prices will significantly limit the volume of purchases, but thats the vendors business decision. As long as the vendor isnt promising something in the description that theyre not providing, theres nothing wrong with it. Its either worth it to you as a buyer or not.
The textures look quite good to me from the example images. Some artists might actually like that the price is very high, because it creates a level of exclusivity. That will limit the number of other renders out there using the same texture, so its a middle ground between hiring somebody to create your textures (which would be quite a bit more costly than this), and using the same character textures that a lot of other 3D artists use. Not worth it to me, but could be to some.

Thu, Oct 27, 2022Yes, and expect to get some advanced texture sets, but there is nothing in the zip-file beyond the usual sets, that you can get by any other vendor for 20 $.

Thu, Oct 27, 2022So leave a review on the product itself, where it will be of use. The only negatives I see were a couple where the nipples were mapped to the wrong spot, and another that just said "product bad." Other than that, he's swimming in 5-star reviews. If you expected to come here and the whole site would posse behind you, you're going to be disappointed.

Thu, Oct 27, 2022Wow, I am sorry to hear that. I am a little disappointed too, I was planning to buy couple of his works. Most of his store is in my favorites. Give a detailed feedback to the vendor so he might improve the product with an update. My first product is GAE dress, it's one of my best sellers. When I first released it I had complains which were very productive. I have fixed them and released an update.

Thu, Oct 27, 2022Sigh. I'm sorry about the stand-offish tone I've put forward. Look, I hear you. You feel like you got burned. I've made a few of those types of purchases myself at Daz, where they don't have reviews and ratings and they crush forum posts like this. But this feedback really does need to go on the product itself in the form of a review where it can be seen so long as the product is listed. A forum post like this will be buried in a couple weeks. Meanwhile, there is also a refund policy in place just for sentiments like this, and you'll find far better service with site staff - and even HumanXY is easy to talk with. It just feels like the wrong method.
@Masterstroke
As you are disappointed with the product purchased, have you contacted the seller in private message? Because I am surprised that he does not intervene on the forum since he is appointed. You can request a refund (total or partial or find another arrangement). You will see his answer.

Thu, Oct 27, 2022"...have you contacted the seller in private message?" - This is good advice.
However, just so you know - don't be surprised if you don't see a vendor respond in a forum post about their products.
They are not "appointed" to a forum post. If they don't visit the forums on their own, they wouldn't know the conversation existed.
Thanks for chiming in.

Vendors are allowed to set their own prices here at RenderHub. And you are allowed to not buy a product if you don't see the value.
@korpinsulat is correct. That vendor is "swimming in 5-star reviews", so others must see the value.
@korpinsulat is also correct about this:
"Meanwhile, there is also a refund policy in place just for sentiments like this, and you'll find far better service with site staff."
If you have a problem with a product, and the vendor is not able to resolve the issue to your satisfaction, just contact support.
We'll take care of you.

HumanXY's skins are the only ones I use for my main characters. He does them all himself from sampling real skins in ZBrush. They are pricey but you get what you pay for, he spends a ton of time on them, and you will notice he updates them regularly. Some of them are at 8k and I've been asking him to do more like that, but if your settings for compression aren't set high enough you wouldn't see it anyway. But even the 4k's are dynamite photo realistic with the right settings.
If you don't think they are worth the price, don't get them..I know they are.

Hello... the truth is that I don't see the problem... everyone sets their price policies and from what I know he is very good with his products... They are expensive but they are worth it... You can contact him anothern the site if you do not agree. But I think you're making a mistake in my opinion.

I have bought a couple of thier characters and consider them much better value than the hundreds available using merchant resources.
... And they look really good.
I'll be getting a G9 or two eventually, but at the price, I can't buy many!

"This is just usury !"
Nope, it's simply a case of not buying if you don't think they're worth it; return if you find them not worth the cash.

For the last time! I call it usury!
Is it a good product?
actually yes.
Is it worth 60$
No, not at all
this is o.k. for 20$, expensive for 28$
I'd be o.k. with it, if it was special, like it is suggested from the promos:
"High quality"
What does that mean? Hasn't it been relabeled from "Ultra Hi Res" to "High Quality"?
Make a real, not upscaled 8k texture set, and I'd be o.k. with that prize.
To everyone else:
Have fun with it. If you want to pay 60$ for this character set, instead of 24$ for a similar, then it is your choice.
I still call this an impertinent usury.
But hey, thanks for the product update...

Thu, Nov 10, 2022To be honest, you're coming across as a troll.
It is not usuary.
If it's too much, don't buy it.
If you did buy it and you don't feel it is worth it, well that is simple, just return it.
I'm done with this.

usury (noun): The action or practice of lending money at unreasonably high rates of interest.
gouge (verb) gouging (present participle or noun): Overcharge or swindle (someone).
prize (noun): A thing given as a reward to the winner of a competition or in recognition of an outstanding achievement.
price (noun): The amount of money expected, required, or given in payment for something.
The title when you first started this grabbed my attention because I thought for real he was having a giveaway. Boy was I disappointed.
Adding a big, ambiguous word like "impertinent" (Do you mean rude or irrelevant? One of them kind of fits. Perhaps you meant "blatant," which means "done openly and unashamedly.") to the wrong word (One that applies only to lending. Payday loans are usury. "Pharma bro" Martin Shkreli hiked the price of a medication from $1.50 a pill to $30 a pill, causing a huge controversy for gouging. Gouging is closer to the right word) does not make you seem wiser about the matter.
I'll re-state myself and others: leave a review on the actual product page; that is where this belongs. Then ask for a refund, even a partial one, and you will have paid what it's worth for you. Unless it's too late at this point, in which case oops.
Our pitchforks and torches will remain safely tucked in the barn.
