I have nothing against AI art. But if the goal of a person is to view real images, this will become a problem.
! REPORT
This is indeed a good idea, so if a person wants to see AI images it will be a good URL
I think that few people put photos in their galleries but it is true that the renderings can sometimes be so realistic that they can be confused with photos

I agree there should be a separate AI gallery, but it would be difficult to police it.

Mon, May 08, 2023Hmm, renderhub could use a flexible filter.
Add checkboxes to hide images by 2d, 3d and AI tags.
Will people tag their work properly? This is already a matter of educating a person and the desire to treat each other with respect, and not behave like cattle.
But a place where cleanliness and order is not maintained quickly turns into a garbage dump.

How do we define something as an AI art ?
Almost all sw currently has AI built into their functions either explicitly or implicitly.
And this will keep increasing in the future.
So what exactly is a human created original art.

Mon, May 08, 2023The customer gives a description of the final product to the contractor. The contractor creates a product according to the description, sometimes makes adjustments at the request of the customer. So who is the author of the product?

Mon, May 08, 2023I can answer in French labor law.
The work done by an employee belongs to the employer.
So a salaried graphic designer is not the owner of the drawings he produces but the employer who can sell them and receive the royalties.
It's the same for computer scientists the software they design belongs to the employer

Mon, May 08, 2023A millionaire ordering an very expensive pottery with "description".
I don't think the millionaire is the creator.
I feel it's easy to bucket an image as 100% AI, if its straight out of a diffusion model like SD etc.
than an image in which humans work on it with different SW in its different stages.
Diffusion models are created by humans and source data were all the public images.
One could argue that the generated output has nothing to do with machines.
I am no artist; I would like to know how artists would classify an image as AI.

I would really be interested to know what the people at RenderHub define as AI.

Mon, May 08, 2023If you define AI as exactly what it should mean, then it is not related to what is now being advertised to the fullest.

Mon, May 08, 2023I do not think there is any strict definition of AI, as that would be too bounding on a field which is ever evolving with new research papers pumped out every other day.
True, there are lot of tools released these days with the letters AI attached to the end.
Many sites have going for the NO AI route. Each I understand have their own valid reasons - business side of things, copyright issues etc.
These reasons they can make it public or keep it within the firm.
So for RenderHub they too I would assume, have very valid reasons to take the NO AI route.
I just want to understand, from their perspective what they classify as AI art or not.

Mon, May 08, 2023Roland Dorgeles, and two accomplices who had had a canvas painted by a donkey to whose tail was attached a brush.
https://www.grandpalais.fr/fr/article/la-toile-peinte-par-un-ane-au-grand-palais
Is this painting a work of art? I think the concept is the same for an image created by AI

Mon, May 08, 2023That donkey sure is talented but let's not forget his/her mentor.
I can be very brief about this.. I stay far away from A.I. because if people call this homemade art made by a robot, the name "Render" Hub is lost...

Mon, May 08, 2023Unfortunately, with many things it is just like the internet that was introduced. It's up to you where you draw the line. But when it comes to real creativity, I don't need a robot for that.
This is not an official statement "from RenderHub" - but I have talked to the owner about this. So I'll do my best to address the issue.
AI generated art is against the spirit of the RenderHub community. This is a 3D community and marketplace.
The owner created RenderHub as a place for people to buy and sell 3D models and related content.
The website reviewers have a list of various reasons why a product may be declined.
"AI Generated Products Not Allowed" is one of those decline reasons.
The gallery and other community features are intended to be used by people involved in the 3D world, like 3D artists and 3D content creators.
When someone submits their artwork to the gallery, they can choose from a list of software used to create that image.
Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, and other AI methods are not on that list.
In addition, there is a "Report" button on every gallery image page that has a list of things community members can report as being a problem.
"AI Generated" is on that list of problems that can be reported. When an image is reported, reviewers will be notified to take action.
Users that violate the website Terms of Use or community standards will receive a warning in most cases.
Users that repeatedly violate the TOU or community standards may have their account terminated.
I hope that helps make things a little more clear.

You have just "mettre les points sur les i" ("dotted the i")!
I do not know the equivalent of this French expression in English, but it becomes clear that RenderHub is all about 3D made by humans!

Wed, May 31, 2023Finally someone said it, FUCK AI. That shit ruined everything. they have to go around jacking people's stuff. Every single art platform is taken over by AI art and its part of the reason I abandoned most of them even if I can hide it. If the future of art is this AI trash then I'll be spending the remainder of my time collecting old art so once AI becomes the norm and it makes up 100 percent of the "art" on the internet. I will be done with all art websites and wont ever fund anyone who isn't original. The people on here advocating for AI should just leave. Every website does not need this AI shit and it's beyond me why people even think or feel that way. Renderhub seems like the only place where we don't have to suffer looking at that crap, but you have people outright saying "well oh everyone else is doing it, Renderhub should do it too." No I respect RH for not following what other people do.

Wed, May 31, 2023And forgive my language, I'm just so annoyed lately with AI overrunning everything now. I can't believe people have such a herd mentality nowadays. So much art look identical a like because of AI. RH isn't as popular as sites like Deviant Art and what not, but I see AI art everywhere and it's honestly discouraging even me at this point. I'm not afraid to say I hate AI, people shouldn't be afraid to say they dislike something just because someone is going to defend whatever it is they don't like. Be bold, and tell it like it is.

Wed, May 31, 2023to test the drawings in AI, I asked a site for an image of a "mouton a 5 pattes" (5 legged sheep). it is a French expression to define a thing that cannot be found.
I got a sheep's head as a result, another suggestion was a "normal" sheep. But never 5 legs on a sheep's body. I think that any designer is capable of making such a drawing!
As a first experience, it didn't make me want to know more! I don't have time to waste on things that aren't worth it

Me personally, AI has its place in the CGI world. I'm not exactly a cheerleader for AI imagery, but I'm not an outright hater on it either. It certainly has a lot of kinks to work out.
This place did just have a "No AI" contest, showing this site's general disapproval of AI imagery. Every once in a while you'll even see their anti-AI logo up top.

Tue, May 09, 2023There are people who care about quality even if they use AI. But this is not the first time I see works here that, without editing, are shoved into the gallery immediately after generation,
with twisted eyes and muzzles. And my eyes are bleeding. This looks like a mockery.

Tue, May 09, 2023I have nothing against it if people use AI, BUT if it is placed on gallery websites where renders are expected, where 3d content is offered, that Renderhub has a No AI logo on the website and has organized a "No AI" contest, then I get a little short circuit in my head lol.
AI users like MJ probably don't realize they are stealing images over the internet. MJ developer has already confessed and already has few lawsuits.

AI art can create interesting and unique artwork that may be difficult to recreate using traditional methods. However, it will never truly replicate the feeling of looking at a real image. AI art can also be used as a tool to explore different forms of visual expression, but it may not be the best choice for someone who is looking for a more authentic experience.
